The Gothic Daedalus Extension

We wanted to tell you a bit more about the Daedalus because it is really meant to transform and expand your cathedral into many settings. By adding options for rooms, corridors, and arched walkways, you are getting many new options.

If you read our blurb about this on the Kickstarter front page, you already know that, so let's now focus on images to show you how we integrated the Daedalus Extension into the tables you've seen in our videos.

Arthenya's Library

In this scene where our ArchPapess Arthenya faces the flamboyant Iron Empire Officer Kristina Karlstein, nearly everything is made with a Daedalus Kit, aside from 2 cathedral sections on each side of the scene. We've used the Daedalus kit to create a high-walled moody room full of arches and stairs.

In this setting, the back wall sporting a large computer screen above the chimney shows you how you can stack up the Daedalus wall Bricks to create high structures.

At floor level, you can see how the arches create unique and beautiful perspectives on your gaming table. (Please not that the clips shown here are not our final clips. The final ones are much less visible. See the front page for our video about the clips)

At the same time, they are supporting upper level walkways that are perfect to place snipers or as landing space for flying units.

Rooms and passageways for RPG and Skirmishes

In the same spirit, here is a new layout you’ve never seen before. With just 4 Stages from the Cathedral (that is, less than ¼ of a Medium Cathedral) and about ½ of a Dedalus kit, you can achieve this very nice table with open and closed rooms, open spaces and passageways.

Gothic City in Ruins

In the setup below, we used the Cathedral Stages to build the base of a ruined gothic environment. Then, we added Daedalus Kit elements to add more passageways and levels.

This has the added bonus of giving this setup a much more dense and labyrinthic spirit where you can fight really interesting close-range confrontations.

We used about a third of a Gothic Daedalus Kit and about half a Medium Cathedral

Aliens-like Board Game

The Gothic Daedalus is great to transform your Cathedral kit into the interior of a massive Starship. Tomorrow, we will show you a completely different way to use some of the Cathedral STAGES and BRICKS mixed with Daedalus components to create something you would have probably not envisioned.

But before even showing you this, it goes without saying that you can use the Daedalus Extension to create corridors and passageways and add some tri-dimensionality to your good old Aliens-like board game...
